![]() ![]() In both games chaining drifts together and transitioning from one corner to the next is fairly easy. In Ridge Racer 7, you don't necessarily need to do anything to initiate a slide, some cars would just get loose if you turned into the corner hard and fast enough. In Burnout Paradise, you can kick the arse end out at nearly any speed with any car, and with a few prayers, a bit of luck and a bit of skill, you can make out of the other end of the corner okay. I jumped on it right off the back of both Ridge Racer 7 and Burnout Paradise and I hated it. It feels too much like Burnout for me to call it a good Ridge Racer, it feels far too different and far less responsive than burnout to call it a good Burnout game. There aren’t any criticisms I have with the game other than online no longer in service, but overall, I really enjoy it a lot for what it is. Gives it a Burnout feel to it which I can say, feels right for a RR spinoff. ![]() Other than that, I like being able to wreak your opponents and gain more meter to your boost gauge. How to drift is different by holding a button rather than letting off the accelerator button, but controlling it feels the same as it was always. The only small issue I had with the controls was drifting. After playing a few races, all I can say is that the game is really fun and it does feel like Ridge Racer. ![]() I had been a big RR fan ever since I played it on the DS and I really enjoy how the drift mechanic works in the games. So I was curious, installed the game and played it myself. A lot of people says it’s bad because it’s just Flatout with the Ridge Racer name slapped to it as it doesn’t play anything like Ridge Racer at all. From what I’ve seen, this game got a huge amount of hatred from the community despite having very positive reviews. I bought this game for $1 as I’ve never heard about it nor seen anyone mentioning it, so I checked online to see what’s it’s about. ![]()
